BALLET CLASSESBallet Level IIBallet Level II is a 45-minute class that can be taken alone or in conjunction with the jazz and tap classes that follow it. The general age range is 11-12-13-year olds depending on dance experience and level of maturity. A 45-minute jazz and a 30-minute tap class for a total of 2 hours follow it. See Class Schedules for times and locations... Ballet Level III:Ballet Level III is an hour ballet class for 11-12-13-year olds who are interested in an additional challenge. It can be taken with Ballet Level II as an augmentation for extra ballet work. It can be substituted for Ballet Level II. It can be taken as a stand-alone class. Teacher approval and recommendation are needed for admission to this class. See Class Schedules for times and locations... Ballet Level IV, V, and VIThese classes are for 13-18 year old students. Level VI and V are one-hour classes and can be taken as a requisite for and in conjunction with Pre-Pointe or Pointe class. Level VI is a one and one half hour class for our most experienced and serious dancers. This class may also be taken as a requisite for and in conjunction with Pre-Pointe or Pointe class. See Class Schedules for times and locations... Extended Ballet, Tap, and Jazz Combination:This class is a one-and-one-half hour combination of one-half hour each of ballet, tap, and jazz. The student is required to take at least two sections of the class for at least one hour of instruction. These classes are made-up of experienced dancers who are in the 4th and 5th grades in school. They are designed to be the next progressive step after our one-hour combination class, giving the dancers more time and more intensive work with each discipline. Again the ballet technique is Cechetti, the tap technique is through graded exercises, and the jazz technique covers a broad range of musical styles. See Class Schedules for times and locations... Pre-Pointe Ballet:This class is our introduction to the use of pointe shoes in ballet work. Students, must be 13 years old, proficient to a certain level of ballet, and have the recommendation of a teacher for admission to this class. See Class Schedules for times and locations... Advanced Pointe Ballet:This class is for advancement in the technique of Pointe work. Students move into this class when they demonstrate strength and ability in the pre-pointe class.
